DESCRIPTION OF THE RUTE:
The Pachacamac sanctuary is now an archaeological site in the department of Lima with an on-site museum and protected natural areas such as carob forest and lake. It is located in the valley of Lurin, 31 km from Lima. It was built with bricks baked in the sun, pilgrims from around the country come here to worship and pay homage to the god Pachacamac, “God the Creator of the Universe.” You will find there the rest of the palaces, streets, squares and temples built entirely of bricks baked in the sun. Some of them have been partially restored, as the Temple of the Sun and the Acllahuasi or “House of the Chosen” where “chosen women” were taught to spin and weave fine cloth for the Inca and his court.
In addition, we pay a visit to the Site Museum is interesting (museum admission is included), the idol of Pachacamac God.
The tour includes a walk through the neighborhood of Barranco, and finally admires the spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.
